The Auburn’s 2019 football schedule looks, without a doubt, like a tough hill to climb. The Tigers already compete in the SEC’s Western Division which is one of the toughest top-to-bottom divisions in college football. The success of cross-division rival Georgia adds yet another wrinkle to the Tigers’ annual slate of opponents. This year, the schedule might get even tougher

The Tigers will take on Oregon in the AdvoCare Classic in Arlington, Texas on August 31. The Ducks are not going to be an easy pushover. In the 2018 season, quarterback Justin Herbert threw for a whopping 29 touchdowns and more than 3,100 yards. Nonetheless, the Tigers and Ducks have only met once, the 2011 BCS National Championship, which Auburn won 22-19.

The tigers will also be facing the Kent State Golden Flashes on September 14. The team has a strong junior quarterback Woody Barrett will also probably be an integral part of the Flashes’ success. Barrett had an average 236 yards per game last year, and his continued development as both a quarterback and an athlete is something that the coach and his staff focused on throughout the off-season. When it comes to the tigers, they also have a freshman Bo Nix who is the five-star dual-threat quarterback. He also ranked No. 1 at his position in the Class of 2019. Nix will start for the Tigers against the Ducks in the first game of his college career.

Against the schedule, Auburn isn’t wavering in its ambition

Offensive lineman Prince Tega Wanogho said that the goal is always the same every year. “Win the SEC, win the championship! That’s the goal as a whole unit, as a team,” Wanogho added.
For the Tigers, it is also less about who’s next on the schedule and more about Auburn. They’re getting things corrected that they struggled in, last year.
